Jet Wilson’s “Painted Melodies” shows off an impressive kaleidoscopic array of styles and sounds, tied together by an undeniably tight flow. Throughout “Painted Melodies” Jet Wilson lets a narrative emerge from each of these pieces, from the tense sound of the opener “Just Wait” to the atmospheric swirl of “I Came Up”. A diverse approach results in a collection full of twists and turns, as Jet Wilson lets elements of trap, pop, and R&B into the mix. By weaving these many genres together Jet Wilson is able to create a sound that is uniquely his own.

Dreamy in nature is the hazy sound of “Feel The Vibe”. One of the highlights of the collection Jet Wilson lets the dazed mood of the song take over as his lyrics focus on the mellow moments in life. Taking a different approach is the lush sound of “I’m The Man” where Jet Wilson’s introspective, almost poetic lyrics serve as the heart of the piece. With a sense of play is the nimble sound of “Long Nights” where Jet Wilson’s message of carpe diem rings loud and true. A smooth groove anchors the luxurious low-key “Roll It Up”. Easily the collection’s highlight is the infinite catchiness of “Diamonds & Gold” where Jet Wilson’s flow is particularly on point. Giant in scope is the anthem of “Way Up”. Closing out the collection is the somber message of “Dead In The Streets (Outro)”.

Smart, stylish and sounding like no other Jet Wilson’s “Painted Melodies” proves he is in a league all of his own.
